Shamanic Pathways Newsletter Spring and Summer 2009
Welcome to the first edition of our Newsletter. It is wonderful to see spring returning to awaken us from our time of winter rest and retreat. Rebirth can be felt not only in the cycles of the natural world but within our own physical, emotional, spiritual and etheric bodies. Spring and summer gives us the chance to plant the seeds of what we have gained through introspection during our time of rest to carefully nurture it as it grows and then to harvest the results of our tender care.
During the winter Karrie and I have been working toward getting to the point of launching our websites, which is now a reality. My beloved’s site is www.kmariearts.com. The artwork on this page is one of her painting’s Sipapu Dreaming. If you are interested you can purchase prints on her website. All the proceeds will be donated to Sipapu in the Amazon Rainforest a Heart of the Healer Foundation Project.
This winter I was trained with the first group of The Heart of the Healer Foundation as an Endorsed Teacher in The Pachakuti Mesa Tradition: Cross Cultural Shamanic Arts for Personal and Planetary Renewal. A five-part weekend apprenticeship over a two-year period beginning in the summer of 2009. I was personally trained by THOTH founder Oscar Micro-Quesada. During the winter I also created a new form of moving meditation. I have taught Tai Chi for many years and have come to the realization that many people have difficulty learning because they have difficulty mastering the order of the movements, and don’t have time to practice in their busy lives, therefore they either get frustrated or just give up. I have developed a new form of moving meditation called Soul Chi. Soul Chi is a spirit inspired heart centered moving meditation harmonizing with the energies of the natural world. In Soul Chi the basic movements of Tai Chi are learned and then each person creates their own form as their spirit leads them. Sitting meditation and warm up exercise are incorporated in the process as well. Soul Chi’s first classes will be coming soon.
In the coming months and year we will be offering classes and workshops as well as free community events and ceremonies.
Please check out the calendar for the latest information and if you wish sign up with your email and we will send you updates on a regular basis.
We look forward to sharing sacred space with you soon.
Love and Blessing’s, Daniel and Karrie Marie Baxley
